Using the radio tower that's suppling the phone signal, Google's software (<a href="http://mobile.google.com/gmm/index.html" target="_blank" class="offsite-link-inline">downloaded</a> and installed to your smart phone) can then work out roughly where you are. It will incur data costs if your mobile contract doesn't include Internet downloads. But when you're trying to find a street it really is a great way to find the information.</p>
